Door County Christmas 2004
The following is an account of my Christmas celebration, thus far:

I know that it is unprecedented for me to post twice on the same day, but I just needed to share this quote I received from Liz:
George Winston
Yesterday evening was definitely a wonderful way to begin the Christmas week. I left work at 4:00 (that, in itself, is a wonderful beginning to the week) and met up with Tait and Robin downtown (the ice on the sidewalks after the freezing rain helped remind us that it is December despite a lack of snow
time
I have been given some good-natured grief over my lack of utilizing this space. Yes, there have been many things that occurred between the 1st and today that were worthy of recording here: an affirming
a small world
Yesterday morning I was at work and received a call from a part-time instructor here at St. Kates. She was having difficulties with her email when accessed over the internet. Anyway, as soon as she mentioned her name at the beginning of the conversation a light went on in my head and I said to myself, "I believe that I am talking to my elementary school phy-ed teacher." Of course, when you are trouble-shooting computer problems with a user who is frustrated by not being able to get to important information, the last thing you want to do is take a stroll down memory lane. So after I helped her, I sent an email to her simply asking if she was the same Nancy Ostmoe who used to teach at Fulton Elementary. She replied that she was and that she remembers me. She asked how I was doing and all that fun stuff of finding out what people have done with their lives over the last 15 years.
Anyway, there is nothing earth shattering with this reconnection, but it served as a nice reminder that relationships with others never in fact end... they may just go away for a little while, but the impact of our interactions with one another never go away.
